Relationship Counselling
Who is relationship counselling for?
Every relationship is different, and all are impacted by the stresses and strains of daily life. When those pressures become too much it can be helpful to talk together with a professional counsellor in a safe and confidential environment. People from all backgrounds and situations come to relationship counselling, for a variety of issues, such as intimacy, religion, the impact of extended family, communication or parenting. More often seen as for those in a romantic relationship, if you are wanting to improve it, regardless of what your relationship is, then relationship counselling may be beneficial.
How may a counsellor help?
As a person centred counsellor I work with you as a couple to find your unique way forward, supporting you in exploring and better understanding each other and your emotions, to bring about positive change in your relationship. Relationship counselling is not about who is right or wrong, but a way of allowing both of you hear each others perspective through open discussion.
How soon will things improve?
For some couples simply starting sessions may help to bring a new openness within the relationship, or a relief that issues are being addressed. For others it may feel like things get worse before they get better. I offer both short-term and open-ended relationship counselling, suggesting a minimum of 6 weeks initially and reviewing this throughout our time working together.
What will it cost?
Sessions are held weekly initially, at the same time and place and last 50 minutes each. My standard fee for relationship counselling is £70 for each session.
